To mark the conclusion of Mental Health Awareness Month, Mthunzi Minds conducted an intensive mental health outreach campaign at Chigumukile Community Day Secondary School in Blantyre, directly engaging 112 students across Forms 1 to 4. The initiative focused on transforming standard awareness into an open, participatory dialogue regarding youth psychological well-being.

During the interactive sessions, students actively engaged in discussions centered on stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and the long-term consequences of unhealthy coping mechanisms. Moving away from a rigid classroom lecture format, the outreach provided a safe platform for students to openly share their personal experiences with academic pressure, family challenges, peer influence, and future uncertainties.

The impact of the session was vividly demonstrated at the conclusion of the program, when the students performed an original song and a drama piece based entirely on the mental health lessons they had learned. This creative translation of the core messages proved that the concepts deeply resonated with the learners. Mthunzi Minds extends its sincere gratitude to the administration, teachers, and students of Chigumukile CDSS for their warm reception and commitment to building a school environment where no young person has to struggle in silence.
